Financial/Insurance

If you have dental insurance, we will work with you to help you understand your benefits and coverage in addition to filing claims for you. As a courtesy, if we have your insurance information before your initial appointment, we will be able to determine your benefits before you arrive. We will do our best to get a proper ESTIMATE for your insurance coverage, and sometimes there is a difference of either a credit or balance to the patient. The patient is responsible for any outstanding balance after we have received all insurance payments.

While we are able to bill and accept insurance benefits from most PPO dental plans, we are considered IN-Network with the following dental plans:

  • Delta Dental PPO and Premier
  • United Health Care PPO
  • Cigna Dental PPO

What does it mean to be in-network? If we are contracted as a network provider, we have agreed to follow the fee schedule from your insurance company. The fee schedule is considerably less than our usual and customary fee for most procedures. Our fees are based upon the combination of our costs, our time, and our constant dedication to supplying our patients with the highest quality of care. We are unwilling to cut corners just because of an insurance company shortcoming. We have avoided using cheap, out dated materials, overseas labs and outdated technology. We will not let your insurance company determine your treatment. As a misconception-dental insurance benefits were not designed to pay for all dental care. In fact, the maximum benefit per calendar year in most dental plans has not increased in over 30 years!

At Dr. Smith’s dental office, we provide professional care and convenient financial options. We accept cash, checks, and all major credit/debit cards. (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).

Specific fees for treatment vary depending on the tooth, the type of treatment, and other circumstances.  Anticipated fees will be discussed with you prior to initiating any treatment.  Payment or coinsurance payment is due in full when services are rendered.
